In the begining of the srishti VED: gave Decimal system for calculations.
Then in Treta yug RAM being equipped with 12 Kalaas, hence base12 system became popular, viz. 1 foot = 12 inches
Then in Dwapar yug Krishn: with 16 kalaas, hence base16 system became popular
viz. 1Rupee = 16 Anna's or today's hexadecimal system (on which today's IT/Computers system is based ) is also of the Krishn: period.
and Now new Samay_Chakr: of Time Clock Museum & Research Centre Delhi has again established the DECIMAL system, which originally was given by Ved:
